Default Lack of power at the bottom

I might have asked this a while back but cant remember any responses.
Heres the deal.
I drive 1994 Prelude. Chassis has 140k on it but still feels tight.
I swapped the F for an H and love it. Ive got a turbo kit spread out on my basement floor waiting on some more parts. My problem is that as it is right now...until i get to about 4500rpm there is no balls. I mean it feels like im in my wifes mazda 6 or something when i accelrate. once i hit 4500 it takes off. And NO the VTEC is off right now due to a broken harness. VTEC wouldnt help me until 4 or 5000 rpm andyway. MY question is...is this just the way it is until i get boosted, is this a problem with this motor, is it a problem with honda engines period, or is there something i can do to get more low end. (parts etc.) any opinions welcome

Well your really going to feel a lack in torque in the bottom end unless you get a pos disp supercharger with a turbo you still have to wait for it to spool up but I still think the turbo is the best route. Just wondering what H series did you pick.

i went with the h22 since it seemed the most common as far as aftermarket parts were concerned...i mean as far as the large motors were concerned. A buddy told me to throw in a b16 or one of the new K series. I was thinking on the B but it seemed like a waste of space and i felt that alot more modding would be required. Since some prelude models came stock with a H22 i thought that it would be easier to swap. As for the K me and some friends want to wait until those motors are more established and there more parts and support for them. I dont know if that makes sense or not. I figure maybe another year or 2 and the K will be very supported aftermarket-wise. I have a turbo kit in pieces in my basement. I just need a few more oil lines and fittings. I know there are ways to mod the car so that when I stomp the throttle that ill take off. there has to be a way. Camshafts or ignition maybe. I heard that an aftermarket intake and throttle body will help but i dont want to drop the cash unless im sure. So any expert advice on mods is welcome.

A aftermarket big bore TB and a larger polished manifold will help a good bit. It depends on the grind of the cams to where they will help most.
