Default cylinder head gasket

hello, I was searching for the cylinder head gasket for my car (hyundai-xg300-2001) … the part number which the car has right now is # 22311-39000 but more than one person told me that now a days they only sell part # 22311-39001 (that 39000 was superseded by 39001)---- so I bought the 39001 but it doesn't fit the car!!! ... do anyone knows what happened with part number 22311-39000..

the XG300 has a G6AT or G4HA engine in it and it is the only year for that engine from 2002 on its the G6AU or G4HC (XG350). Dealers will still sell the part you need BUT you may need to call around to a few dealers to find one that has one in stock or like deep stage said car corporate and try to work with them. hope it works out for you

the part didn't fit, meaning that some of the holes (the passes of water) were blocked with part 39001. I talked with alot of dealers and all of them told me that they were only selling 39001 because this was replacing the 39000, thing i didn't understand why because, even if the car was only a one year model, they should sell it, don't you think..

I tried calling to the Hyundai Motor but everytime i called only an answering machine appeared, so i started searching other places and found out that the Mitsubishi also requires a part almost identical to the one i needed, and guess what! this one works perfect, it is the same gasket but sold with another part number.. seems like i'm a lucky girl..

Well guys, after all this incredible long week, i finally have my car working again...if it wasn't for the Mitsubishi dealers, i would still be searching for part number 39000..

THANK YOU ALL for trying to help, for the advises, comments and phone numbers all provided...i'm a happy girl again.

see ya around some other time..
