im just gonna fix the car i have now up for looks and sounds i got thw custom exhaust got a 15 and two 12 inch kickers wit a 1500 and a 400 wat amp getting my interior done red and black from floors up i wanna get my chrome rims accented with red and black and i am adding neon on but i dont know whats the laws for it can some let me know if they know thank you

i highly doubt any under car neons will be legal in gaysville california. i hate cali, and would never live there.

Well lucky for you there are kit's out there with Multi color display, which means you can pick what color you want underneath your car with a flip of a switch. Ahhhh the beauty of LED's. But I really don't know the legal issues with lighting, besides that you can get ticketed if seen with Blue lights.

in almost every state "ALMOST" you cannot have any sort of extra, espectially blue or red, lights on while the car is in motion
the only time you can have them on is when you are parked and not on a public road
there are some areas though, usually the more "ghetto" type that will allow it
but most places will not
just go ask your city attorney...or maybe a friendly cop you know

they can be in plain sight
cops may give you crap for them
but they are usually just illegal to use while moving

here in texas, if the bulb is seen, its illegal. it creates a distraction for other drivers. If the bulb is hidden, the colors cannot be blue or red.

Im pretty sure that cali will complain about any sort of light other than oem on the vehicle as a distraction, and deem it illegal.

thank god for red states..as of this time..you dont get hassled here in vegas..but i did live in Huntington bch.CA..and the liberal pric's outlawd everything...i hate CA with a passion..went to go to a car show with my 50 mercury and got tiketed out of the state..3k later and 15 days in court..god i hate california.

well I'v asked this a lot to several cops and most of them all say the same thing its Neons (even wile in motion) are NOT illegal. What IS illegal is a distraction to the other drivers. SO its up to each cop to interpret as they see fit. if they "feel" that its distracting other drivers they can give you a ticket for it.. but they them selves are not illegal. In this aspect Spinner rims "can" get you a ticket as well...

good thing i took criminal justice..any lighting on a vehicle shall not be any other color than white or amber in the front and red and amber in the rear. all other lights, (i,e, running board lights, auxillary lights) shall also be amber in color..technically, u can get cited for changing the color of your guages, map/dome light etc. if it is highly visible to other drivers. i got a bunch of tickets for this one already..cali doesnt suck, its the damn cops!
