Default SES Light

If you cut out the cat, u-bend, and res will you set off the SES light. I plan on basically making my exhaust straight pipe all the way back to the muffler. I will have the O2 sensor still there.

you will need a 02 extension or a secondary 02 sensor eliminator, its like 20 bux. Not sure what you are talking about with the SES light thing, isnt the SES airbags? if you remove your 02 and your SES light goes on, theres something else wrong homie

My mistake. I meant CES light. The Check Engine Soon one. Will I still need the O2 extension if I leave the O2 sensor in the same place in the straight pipe. The only thing that will be different is that instead of the U-Bend it will be straight pipe.

keep in mind you can get a hell of a ticket for removing your cat, and you won't gain much if any power at all, unless your cat is clogged at the moment. just remove the muffler if you want to add a lil power. you can still remove the cat, but if it has a sensor in it youll have a check engine light on. ( usually an o2 sensor in some models of newer cars

We dont have emissions testing here in Michigan. The only ticket I can get is for a sound ordinance which I would get from my sound system anyways. The O2 sensor is in the u-bend and I plan on putting the O2 bung in my straight pipe so that it will be there.

you were right. SES on our GM cars means Service Engine Soon. mine pops up occasionaly, since my IAT sensor comes loose sometimes in the intake tract. if youre going catless, contact a company like GST Motorsports, DBTuned, or EIP Tuning ( not associated with the AUdi tuning EIP ) they sell CEL ( or SES, same thing ) Eliminators, which are just threaded L-pipes. oe side goes into the O2 port, the other your O2 sensor goes into. no more light

I am just getting the same size piping and doing it myself. I can get it at Meijers for like $4 per piece. All I need is a rubber gromet a little smaller than the diameter of the O2 sensor and Im going to drill a hole, put the gromet it and put the sensor back. And I should be good...I think. I dont want to deal with the whole O2 sensor spoofing crap that they have because I might need the SES light some day.
