Default Integra Short Shift Install

Okay, so I purchased a Fidanza short shift unit. The install was pretty easy. (honestly easier then my headlights go figure). So I figuered I would share the install with you all incase you didn't already know...

To remove the stock shifter (sorry no pics of these first steps), you'll need to jack your car up on one side or the other. I used raps for both sides as it was easier. Once underneath the car you'll need to remove your heatsheild. For the Integra it's 8 10mm bolts. Some people will tell you that you need to completely disconnect your shift linkage to remove the heat sheild but I found out that withh a little wiggling it cam right out. Next you'll see where the shifter connects to the linkage. Undo the main bolt and pull you shifter down through.

Here is a pic of the size difference.

Next just grease the bearing of the new shifter with some high temp water resistent grease. Slide it back up trhough and into the shift boot. Re-attach your linkage after the shifter is locked into place. And make sure all your bushings are in good shape (they are like $14 for both and honestly a good idea to replace while doing this install).

And Juala. You now have a nice new short shifter. I put the stock knob back on mine cause I'm waiting for my Greddy counter weight unit. But it is awesome none the less.
