First of all the will have more power because they require it. Why? Because they are high end subs. Second I bet you that it costs me less than $700 for that entire system. I get a 80% discount on all Kicker and MTX car audio products through Circuit City. If I really wanted to I could get a $4,000 18" MTX Sludgehammer sub for $300. And third...Right now with the setup I have I bet it can still compare and I havent spent more than $300 dollars for all the stuff I have.

first, mine can handle more power too, but do i need it? no
if i got the top of the line JL subs..they would require more as well
second, i dont get an 80% discount like you do, i had to wait and find my deals
so lets compare what the actual prices of our systems would have costed
and 80% off 4000 is not 300 dollars...
and third...once again..discount
why you get a "80%" discount at circuit city of all places is beyond me
but i would never buy a system from circuit city...thats just my personal opinion
every system ive heard there sounds like shit
but im pretty sure thats cause they are either blown, dont have enough power, or its the setup they have it in
im not bashin on circuit city at all, but i just dont like retail stores like that for systems...

EDIT: im not able to find a 18" MTX Sludgehammer, can you post a link to it? I want to read the specs on it

You cant read more specs on them. For some reason I have only been able to find them through Circuit City's discounts. The reason that subs sound like crap is because idiots that dont know what they are doing go in there and turn them up as loud as they go not knowing that distortion is what blows them. Circuit City doesnt personally give us an 80% discount. We have what is called accomodations and through those we pay what it costs the manufacturer to make them. So in some cases it will be 80-85% and others it will only be a 15% discount. I know I can get a 12" Solobaric L7 for $135, but they cost I believe $500 to anyone who comes in and buys one off the street.
