Yesterday on my way home my tranny started slipping or something. So I ran it to my buddy who is the head mechanic at Pontiac and he put it on the scanner. Apparently 4th gear is gone. Anyone know where I can find a 4T65E tranny for a 1999 Grand Prix GT or a GTP tranny will work too?

I found a tranny for $300, but I need to know if it will fit in my car. Can someone tell me if a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP tranny will be interchangeable with a 1999 Grand Prix GT tranny?

I found out that its just a GT tranny not a GTP. But it is a 2002 tranny not a 99. So I need a part to connect the cooler lines because they are different sizes.

Well I found out that the only tranny that will fit in a '99 is a '99. Every other year is interchangeable except for this year. Anyways...on the other side with some good news. I just got the tranny rebuilt with performance parts that would have cost me $1800 for $350 including parts and labor.

It is a ZZP tranny without the hefty price tag.

Are you talking about mine? It was done in 2 days everything from dropping the bottem end to cleaning out the casing to put it back in. I didnt do it. My ex g/fs dad is the head mechanic at a Pontiac dealership around here and has about 30 years experience and a crap ton of schooling they make him do to stay current. He does all my work for pretty much free, plus I get his discounts. He does it right at home. He has a lift in the bottom half of his garage.

I have been for about 7 months now. Having a racing tranny makes a world of difference over stock. I can smoke a Grand Prix GT with a CAI, exhaust, ignition system, etc...just with the tranny and the CAI alone.
