WOW what a general question. What is your goal for the turbo? How much gain are you looking to get? Is spool a consideration? Is low end or big power more important to you?

knowing how to weld can cut down on your costs considerably.

1. find a good source for tubing and manifold flanges, a good place to start might be the Vibrant line.

2. Find a reliable tuner in your area and a system thats within your budget for your vehicle.

Good luck

alright... first... make sure the motor can even handle boost... aka.. valves, pistons, rings, and everything else inside. and are you looking for heavy boost or just a few psi cause 5-8 psi would make difference in power and be noticed and yet still be safe. anything above start worrying about spinning a bearing or throwin a rod or even cookin rings. oh and make sure you get a chip and also make sure it is calibrated well... any other questions just ask... later...

ATLEAST 200-300HP, YEAH I WOULD STRENGTHEN THE INTERNALS FIRST, THEN TURBO.
IN BETWEEN QUICK SPOOL AND POWER, AND I'M IN 2 WELDING CLASSES 200 AND 204.
PROBABLY WON'T FIND A GOOD TUNER. VIBRANT PERFORMANCE WAS THE ONE I WAS CONSIDERING FOR THE PARTS TO MAKE THE CUSTOM.

Your asking about how much it would cost to put your own turbo system together? ... about $800-900 give or take. That is if you not against junk yard parts

Yeah your right it should cost around $1500. Cause your gonna spend about $100 on Intercooler piping, $200-$300 on the intercooler, around $200-$300 on manifold, $600 (descent but good) turbo, and the rest for all the other crap: injector, down pipe, etc... maybe $2000.

you know, they make kits just for this purpose, i have said it once and i'll say it again, if anyone could slap a kit together, do you think these guys would be in business? might want to add a flowbench onto your list of things you need to know how to use, and have access to.

i agree but in my situation, a kit for my car is appox $4,000.00, and i just don't have that amount just laying around. So a "piece meal" turbokit will cost me about half the price.

nitrous will give you the same if not more power for @ 500 bucks, yeah , yeah, yeah you gotta get the bottles filled and the power's not there all the time but that 3500 bucks you'll save getting nitrous instead of a 4,000 dollar turbo will get your bottle topped off for a couple of years !!
