Default extra battery

i currently just have my subs and amp running to my batter now. but i want to put a dvd player, 3 screens, interior neons and underbody neons. am i going to need to put another batter in the back. and if so how do i go about that. wiring? bigger alternator? stuff like that. or could i just use the same batter for all of that just get a bigger battery and bigger alternator?

I can't say i'm really sure if you need another batt in the car. but it would definatly be a good idea to get a larger alt. Also you have to think about setting up a alt just for the second batt as well. I'm sure you could run some wires from your current alt wire harnes to the back to charge that one. But i would definatly say getting upgrading eather the alt or the batt seems a good idea. Not sure if you would need both

Properly installing a second battery does wonders to your car. My old school 78 cutlass had a duel battery system that i put in to go with a 2800 watt stereo and it makes all the difference. You can run everything while the car is off until the battery dies (if using a deep cycle) the just simply start the car with the main battery. Great upgrade. To do this you need to take off you wire coming from your alternator and run it through an isolator, which is basically a fancy splitter. from there, you run one wire to your main battery and one to the second batt. If both batteries are under the hood then it is safe to use 8 gauge wire, if one is in the trunk then run a minimum of 4 gauge to that batt. To do all this you WILL need to get a more powerful alternator or the factory one will fry and shut off all your cars electrical. But DO NOT just split the wire coming from the alt to go to both batteries, you must use an isolator or problems will persist. Its a great upgrade though.

Just get a larger battery. I suggest the Optima Yellow Top. Also get a higher amp alternator. And third for some cars out there there is a plug n play type thing that plugs into the battery cables somewhere that increases the voltage by about 1.2 volts, which can make a huge difference. Also for your audio system it would be easier and probably better if you hooked up a few capacitors. They are basically batteries and you can use them on the DVD players, subs, and speakers.

Just run a second battery larger ALT, and run some 2 guage welding lead back to the second battery and use a battery isolator and a relay, probly find the diagram on the 12Volt.com

I have a Duralast red top. Basically its a more affordable version of the optima battery. It came in my car surprisingly when I bought it.
