No disrespect but I don't think anyone really wants to mod Tauruses these days. Why don't you sell it and mod something else with a bigger aftermarket? If you're looking to be unique and keep your car I would suggest some kind of Engine Management to go with your speed Limiter fix. Like some are saying here that limiter is there for a reason.

It's always better to have more money for mods, you blow your motor and there goes the money you could have spend on a turbo system, wheels, suspension....etc. Domestic or Import, there's the RICER way and the RIGHT way. Make your choices wisely!!!

yeah in our ford the govoner is electric so you have to override it with a chip
its not like old muscle cars where you can just take it off

i already have a jet chip, it doesn't remove the limiter, just changes the timing and A/F ratio at higher rpm's. I'm thinking i'm gonna have to get a different ECU but nothing is compatible, i think i may have found one that would work though, but not sure.

i don't plan on going turbo or having a supercharger, at most i think i might go with a nitrous system. yeah i don't want to do any crap to my car that is ghetto, like cutting wires and driving with the check engine light on.

to tell the truth i want a speed limiter.
i also want some kind of device to keep my car at a certain rpm when on neutral so that i get no tire spin but that i launch quick, some kind of adjustable device.

an RPM limiter is good to have, but i want to go faster so i can blow people away on the highway. I can already blow them away with acceleration, but once i hit the speed limiter they slowly catch up and pass.

Just be careful bud. at three in the morning there may not be a lot of people out but you can endanger yourself. Less people around less chance of you living if you get in a serious crash. Also you are endangering other peoples lives. remember this "take it to the strip not the street"

Like I posted before about dumb ass drivers...just cause you're alert at 3 in the morning, the dumb ass driver next to you or on the same road may not. It doesn't always have to be your fault to get into an accident.
