Good Evening.....As I said in my 1st post, I plan to do a N/A build on my Avenger ES 5Speed. Following please find my planned mods........please feel free to comment / give advise
420a Bored .020 w/ Stroker forged crank....2.2L total volume 10.5:1 CR W/ forged pistons crane 016 cam w/ matched springs, locks, retainer, PT style followers 1 mm oversize valves eagle rods high volume oil pump bored throttle body borla header / cat-back / hi-flow cat AFX ecu ( from Howell Automotive ) Ice Man cai I'm NOT looking for an undriveable / overheating beast w/ no low ent torque....just a fun daily driver w/ more HP than stock. Also, i'd like to stay away from a secondary fuel managment system. Any input would be great. Thanks-Geffen |

If you are set on n/a, ok... but I would just boost the stock motor
building a motor for n/a power is pretty pricey, and sometimes you can make more power, and definately more torque with a simple turbo setup. |

sounds like you're going to have your hands full with some fun performance mods.
if i were you, i would build the motor for and turbo setup. i had good luck with that in my old N/A Eclipse. had really good driveability, and if i could keep my foot off the gas, improved gas mileage. anyways, good luck. |

That is alot of stuff to do to a n/a motor and expensive for not that much hp gain. Not to mention that it probably isn't going to pass smog. Once you start messing with cams, man, it messes up emissions like nothing else. Plus bored .20 over, oversized valves, stroked to a 2.2. It's gonna burn dirty. Much worse than a turbo would burn. If you're in a state other than CA, hahn racecraft makes n/a 420 turbo kits for the avenger, talon, eclipse and laser. about $2200 for the stage 1 5psi boost non intercooled, stock motor safe, good for about 200-225max at 7psi for stage 1. stage 2 is 3495 front mount intercooler, 8psi 250hp, 10psi (max on stock internals) for 275hp. Thats about mid 14's with the stage 1 in the quarter mile and mid to high 13's with the stage 2. Any questions, i know pretty much all there is to know about this engine. I've been studying it for the last year trying to figure out what all i'm going to do to it to get that 350hp outta it. Fire away if there's anything at all you need
