How big are your dents? There's no reason to try and pull out quarter size dents. you'll sooner ruin your metal than actually get them out. If the dent is on a seam.. good luck, if it's shallow enough, just use a bunch of uberthin layers of bondo.
I don't know if you know anything about bodywork, but the foundation rule is to use super thin layers.. if you glob it, it will turn crinkley in a few months as the center finally dries out.

because i need peoples oppinion on how important keeping the original metal is. should i pull all the dents and buy new body panels to replace rusty ones or should i not worry about the original metal and use bondo?

if you're going for showroom, that's one thing. if you're going for a cool resto to drive to work in the summer and show off to your friends, that's another. Personally, i like practicality so i'd bondo the small dents, fix the rust and do what i could to remove dents and stuff... you can always go backward, but like i says, you can't pull out quartersized dents. that way your car looks nice, but if you have dents in the first place, it's never going to be worth $70k.

nobody ever said $70k but i have a habit of just keeping the old metal i dont like bondo. I'm good with it i just want to preserve my peice of history. it was the concept car for all of oldsmobiles 1965 models.
