idk how to drift,....for those that do drift how do you drift? well, this is my thoughts. do you go to a certain speed , turn then quickly press the brakes until rear wheels go loose then press the gas while turning towards the drift.......... am i wrong?(just a thought in my head) another one i was thinking was to go to a certain speed ,turn while at the same time pull the e-brake to a certain point ( my guess around 25% of the full length) let the rear wheels go loose the turn towards the way the rear is going while also pressing the gas. these are my theories of how to drift.....was i wrong? well now back to the main point, for those that already know how to drift how do you?

I'm not sure how to drift cause I've never actually drifted before unless you count ghetto snow drifting but this is how I do it. They're are two ways to do it. One of course is the hand brake. I'll turn in slightly and then pull the hand brake then get on the gas once the rear comes out. Second is plain and simple...oversteer. I'll turn in and gas the living shit out of the car. I'm sure I'm off on how to really drift but that's all I could figure out with what I could see on videos.

It's alllllll about the weight shift. The way to teach yourself is mentally figure out what the car is doing when you push the brakes, and how you can use that intertia to create a force you can harness by your spinning tires.
I prefer the oversteer-countersteer mode over the e-brake mode. There's thousands of schools of thought, though, for every car. Best way to learn is by doing!

Or grow up being raised by a dirt-oval toyota mechanic.
Dirt oval is american drift, for all my non-redneck friends. Seriosuly, though, it's exactly the same concept and you use very simial setups (hence the toyota part! My daddy raced an AE86 on dirt oval)

well... for Trtrex, Sagvr4 and I drifting is damn near outta the question... its a RWD thing, and AWD's just dont do it too well, unless the driving surface is
1. Snowy 2. Dirt/gravel or 3.wet. In those conditions there is a level of control lost, and therefore only experienced drivers should attempt such insanity. |

TRUE, I SAW A FWD DRIFT BEFORE EXCEPT IT WAS A PIC. IT WAS ON SPORT COMPACT, I THINK IT WAS A NEON SRT-4.

Stay pimpin'

if you watch the initial d movie, not the anime version, but the actual movie..it has a couple scenes that would help you understand the concept of driftng. pretty much its a symphony of steering, gas and braking. oh, and the movie isnt that bad either
