Default How to remove center console in a lancer M/T

Only tools needed: philips, and flathead screwdrivers.

**use philips screwdriver unless other wise noted**
1) lift up your center console and remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the tray.
2) lift up and remove that protion of your center console and make sure to pull over the e-brake.
3) remove the two screws that are nearest to you, the screws that are by the wiring harness.
4) remove your ash tray and remove the screw that where the ashtray used to be, and be carefule not to lose the screw.
5) now time to remove the upper most part of the console. by the pedals on the driver side there should be a round pin, use the philips and unscrew the pin.
6) you should now be able to remove the small panel just by pulling back on in, by back i mean towards the front of the car to remove the panel.
7) use the tip of your screwdriver to push in the center of the little pin and remove the pin. you should now be able to move the driver side portion freely.
8) passenger side, use the flathead and place the flat head where the console and the panel meet, use the flat head for leverage sticking it in between the two panels. use the flathead and lift up the small panel and it should pop loose pretty easy.
9) use the tip of the philips and push in the cnter of the small pin and remove the pin. Now you should be able to move both sides freely.
10) to remove the shift boot, you must get under the center console and there are 4 screws that are holding the shift boot in place. Unscrew those 4 screws and you should be able to remove your center console and the shif tknob at the same time.

Now you are done taking apart your center console and can change lights, shift knobs, clean, whatever you fells the need to do with your console removed.

To put the center console back together just follow the directions backwards and you should be on your way.

** I will try and get pictures for this very soon.
