I snapped a bolt when installing my valve cover, does anyone know if this is an easy fix? Should I attempt it on my own or drop it off at a shop?
Any help would be great.

You just need to drill it out.... I'd take it to a shop, they usually have tools that make it easy for them

Bummer, didn't want to do that. Ordered the new bolt (special order, but only $10) going to talk to the acura techs when I pick it up.

I will prob give it a try on my own...cuz I am dumb like that. I would remove the valve cover before I tried anything so as to not damage it's JDM goodness! My bigger fear is making sure that I cover all the cams etc. so as to not get any metal in there.
Maybe I will snaps some pics when I give it a shot.

I can has vtak?

i think when he tightend the bolts down after installing the jdm valve cover is when it snapped. after he removes the VC there may be enough of the bolt protruding from the head that he can pull it out with out a tap and die...

Correct Sik, I snapped the front left bolt when tightening the VC down. The part is in and I will be picking it up on Saturday morning.
You can see here... ![]() Now after the valve cover is off, there is about an inch 1/2 of bolt still there.

Yeah totally easy! The valve cover bolts are threaded on both sides, so all I had to so was take a 12mm wrench and unscrew the broken one, and put in the new one.
Cost of parts $9.67 Time about 20min Woo hoo on the road again! Now I gotta hope for another nice day (few and far between in this area this time of year) and put on the new rotors and pads.

Yeah I am looking forward to the brake upgrade, but I don't have a garage, and the weather is finaly turning to winter (New England sucks in winter) so looks like I may have to put off the brakes till spring.
