i have a 2001 mercury sable and i would really like to add a better exhaust to it. I dont want it to sound too loud or like a truck or anything but maybe more like a tuner. however, i dont know anything about exhausts or what i would need. what would i need and around how much would it cost?

a tuner? you just need a big ass muffler with a 5'' tip would be really cheap. or if you actually want some performance gains you would have to look into a full exhaust or at least a cat-back exhaust. i dunno if anyon makes a kit or not for your vehicle so you might have to get one custom made, and if you do that make sure its mandrel bent and either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2''

Go to ebay motors and type n1 muffler in the search engine... then click on the buy now tab under the search bar, and then sort the results by lowest price first. You will then find
hundreds of reasonably priced mufflers, most of which with removable silencers. Pick one from a seller that has a score of over a thousand and you should be good. Have it welded on at a muffler shop and your Sable will have a whole new grunt.
