>> Order an APEXi AFC NEO here!<<
New Super AFC NEO Fuel Controller Installation Walkthrough 1 : Install and Operation Walkthrough 2 : Operating and Learning about Super AFC NEO We are installing a New AFC NEO into a 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo. Click here for our Acura Integra GSR VTEC Install We recently got our hands on a new AFC NEO. We will be writing up the install for various cars, such as the Eclipse, Integra, Civic G35, 350Z and Evolution. ![]() ![]() The Tools you will need to install the Super AFC II into your vehicle are : 10mm ratchet 1 Phillips screwdriver 1 Standard screwdriver Wire Strippers Solder Gun ** Electrical Tape ** Or taps if you do not wish to solder The installation for our vehicle in this writeup is Karman, for all Karman type vehicles, the wiring diagrams are : ![]() Here is a second generation Eclipse pinout with corresponding AFC wiring. ![]() Begin with sliding the driver seat all the way back until its furthest point. Look down at the driver side foot well and remove the plastic cover to the screws holding the side panel on. Remove the screws using the screwdrivers or 10mm ratchet. ![]() Now, pull off that panel to reveal the ECU and wiring there. Then, pull out your AFC NEO wiring harness. ![]() Now, undo all the ECU plugs from the ECU itself : ![]() Start with the 26pin plug first, refer to the pinout above for further reference. We start by isolating the red power wire, shown here : ![]() Now locate your AFC NEO Power wire : ![]() Make sure to pull back the sheath of the wiring to expose wire, make sure to leave room for the additional power tap later. Now the red power wire should be tapped into the loom, CLOSER to the ecu. ![]() Now locate the red power wire with a white stripe in it. This is also your power wire, but this must be tapped AFTER the red wire, FURTHER away from the ECU. For more details, see the wiring diagram up top. ![]() now, locate your brown AFC NEO ground wire, this is much like the old AFC2 in that the Brown ground wire must be tapped closer to the ECU. again like the power wires, make sure to leave space for the black wire, which is tapped into the loom AFTER the brown wire, further away from the ECU than the brown one is. ![]() Next, locate the ECU 12p harness. refer to the pinout up top for the RPM wire, which should be white. ![]() Now, the green AFC NEO wire is to be tapped into your RPM wire. Locate that and tap it accordingly. ![]() Now, take your 22pin plug off the ECU and locate the Throttle wire refer to the pinout up top. ![]() Now the gray AFC NEO wire is tapped into the Throttle wire, shown here : ![]() Next, you must locate the brown wire with white stripe and the black wire with white stripe on your AFC NEO loom ![]() Brown with white is Karman Signal output Black with white is Karman signal input ![]() Now locate your Karman signal wire, located also on the 22pin refer to the pinout above. ![]() Tap the lead coming out of the ECU to the brown wire with white stripe, and tap the engine harness side to the black wire with white stripe. ![]() The last wire to tap is the orange wire. This is for illumination, for this wire, we want to tap it into your taillights. The wire harness that runs along the rocker panel, under the carpet has this wire. Carefully slit the loom cover to expose the wires. The tail light wire is green with a white stripe, with dashes on it. ![]() Next, plug your AFC NEO unit into the loom, and turn the key to the on position. There are very similar features as the old AFC2 and if you are familiar with them, you'll find your way around the menu system pretty easily. ![]() This is the main menu ![]() The setup menu ![]() Select 4 cyl and the arrow pointing up ![]() Then select Karman from the menu ![]() The AFC NEO has many different ways to monitor your engines vitals and correction. ![]() ![]() You are now ready to tune your vehicle! Congratulations! you have now installed your new AFC NEO. >> Order an APEXi AFC NEO here!<< |

If youve got the 420A I personally wouldnt recommend installing this unit. I to have an RS-T Im running the Hahn Portfueler system and trust me when I say its the best thing for you on the market unless your real good with electronics then I would recommend the Mega Squirt just ot save some money. The Portfueler will run you about $1200.00 but its worth it. It will make the driveability of your 420a much better and your gas mileage will come back to you which is real nice also. Checkout my page and all of my mod. If you ever have any questions on your turbo 420A please feel free to ask me.

On 22p, the diagram you listed at the top,the throttle signal, it's placed 6 pins from the left. But on the wiring diagram that comes with the neo shows it being 3 from the left. Are there 2?....also what color is the throttle signal wire coming from the ecu? Thanx

I agree, pin #84 is indeed the throttle position sensor according to the VFaq and it also correlates to the pic showing the orange/silver dash wire pulled away from the harness.

What do you have your ETC section set to?
If you are running 440s stock, a step up to 550s will be roughly a 10% increase across the board You must make sure that the vehicle section under ETC is set up correctly. For more details look here : http://my.prostreetonline.com/t105.htm

I think we would just have to follow the APEXI directions and get a FSM wiring diagram of our vehicles particular model year. Installing my APEXI RSM was a breeze compared to alot of things. I used the back of the guage cluster to tap into tach/speedo signals. Apexi writes good directions too.
