My check engine light just came on and my code reader came up with "right bank lean" and just recently "left bank lean". I'm pretty sure these are the oxygen sensors and they need to be replaced but what does it mean by left and right bank? its a front wheel drive car, shouldnt it say front and rear bank since the engine is mounted sideways? or does this code mean something else?

maybe it's engine-right and engine-left, with transaxle in the "back" and pulleys in the "front"
not relative to how it's mounted in the car

Yeah, you need to find out which side they consider bank 1 and bank 2. all V type engines have the different banks, since they generally run more than one sensor (one per side).
