Ok, I, like many here, I'm sure, have done some research. I have come to the conclusion that there will be an Evolution X. I've seen pictures. Not only have I seen pictures of concept, auto shows, test drives, BUT I saw on TV about a week ago a general advertisement for Mitsubishi, not any car in particular. You know, showing the line-up. To my excitement and surprise, the Concept pics are correct, and By my powers of deduction, is coming to the U.S. relatively unscathed in respect to the "true" mitsu idea imposed overseas.
My Question: Has anybody REALLY seen or heard official, set-in-stone stats on this thing? I've seen wheel dimensions (255 / 35 / 20), Ive heard its in the neighborhood of 4" shorter overall in comparison to the IX, but has a 2" wider stance, and a 3" longer wheelbase. Ive heard the engine will be all-aluminum block, pistons and head. Ive also heard that the MR edition will feature a 2.4L as opposed to a 2.0L. What I wanna know is what the HELL the redline is! Ive heard 7000 all the way through 9000. Is it a single turbo, or twin? What kind of weight are we talkin' on this puppy? Are we talkin in the neighborhood of an Evo IX, or closer to a Lotus Elise / Saturn Sky / Pontiac Solstice? Last, but you can bet your sweet ass not least, what kind of HP and Torque are we seeing? Ive heard 320 for the base EVO, and close to 400 on an MR. Ive also heard the torque spread will be pretty much from 2000RPM through the Redline (see why I wanna know what the redline is?). In short, I'm trading up from my current EVO 8, and the Evo X, unlike the current Evos, is a badass through-and-through. Looks and horsepower. Interior and under the hood. Should anybody have anything so much as resembling input... You know what to do. |

im not trusting much i read until it comes out. im just relying on an interview where the lead designer (of all the evos including the X) said he guarantees it will be better then the current EVO, unlike the 3g eclipse. he said something along those lines to sport compact car.

ok here it goes on what i know the engine will no longer be the 4g63 it will be a 4b11t motor with an aluminum head i have heard that its a 2.0 and i have heard its a 2.4 not sure on that one. It is coming with a shiftable automatic but it is a rather good one. I still believe that you wil be able to get it in manual though. I hear that redline is either going to be 7K or 7.5k i know what i am hoping for anyhow thats what i know besides what the thing looks like and it will supposedly be out November 2007
