Hey guys I know this is somewhat of a retarded post, but I would atleast like some opinions on this. Alright so i'm in the market for another EK. What I really want is a 96+ hatch... However, i can settle with a coupe. I guess the key word there is settle. I also want one in silver. So heres the dilemma. The silver hatch I found is automatic, so it would require an AT-MT swap.. Where as the Coupe is a MT and is ready to go.
So i'm thinking it might cost me like $1,000.00+ to pick up the parts for the MT swap if I picked up the hatch... This is $1,000.00 that can go towards parts for if I were to get the coupe. Both are relatively the same price. One other think you gotta consider is how long it could potentially take to piece together the MT parts.. I just hate to throw a G down the drain when that could have been money used for a nice suspension setup, which is the first thing i decided to do to the car when i get it, so it would set me back a bit if i got the hatch. What do you guys suggest I do? Oh btw, I really want a new car right now, since I just got my xmas bonus, so I cant sit and wait for a silver MT hatch in the condition I want to pop up. Otherwise I'll spend my money on useless stuff like XMAS presents ![]() |

Just get the coupe... there is not much weight difference between the two.... plus the conversion isn't tough, but you'll be left with parts that you don't need, and can't really sell.

I would say wait a little longer and see if any other hatches open up, but if not id go with the coupe, because its still light as hell and that 1000 dollars is a good chunk of a b18c1
