Cingular and Sprint rank low in cell service survey
I just switched to Verizon after a dispute with Cingular, so i was happy to see this survey.
Cingular and Sprint rank low in cell service survey
Consumer Reports announced the result of an annual survey of cellphone users that polled 43,000 subscribers in 20 major metro areas across the country. Two big losers in the survey were Cingular and Sprint, which were among the lower-rated companies.
Verizon Wireless, on the other hand, was ranked near and sometimes at the top of all of the cities surveyed. Consumer Reports also noted that Alltel was rated a top performer in the three cities it was rated.
Call quality was also noted as a major aggravation for cellphone users in the survey. Overall, cell service gets a D (66 out of 100) from Consumer Reports readers.
Cingular and Sprint will need to warm up their spin machines to counteract the bad press this latest Consumer Reports survey will bring, while Verizon Wireless has one more feather in its cap to woo cellphone users wanting to switch from other carriers.
