Default RSR Ti2000 springs into 03 Evolution

This how-to is based on a spring install of RSR Ti2000 Springs for a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

Tools required
  • floor jack and 4 jack stands
  • spring compressor
  • socket wrench
  • breaker bar (long socket wrench without ratchet)
  • sockets: 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm
  • wrenches: 12mm, 17mm, 19mm
  • flathead screwdriver
  • pliers
  • rubber mallet
General
  • Jack car up onto jack stands or lift
  • Remove wheels (19mm Socket)

This is what you will be working with in the front

Front
  • Remove the clip that holds the break line to the shock (12mm bolt) - Image below is the back of the shock
  • Remove the 2 bolts holding the shock to the hub (19mm)
  • Slowly push axle down and pop shock assembly out of hub
  • Remove the 3 bolts from top of strut tower in engine bay (14mm + socket)
  • Use a spring compressor to compress the spring.
  • Undo the top nut on the shock, and remove the assembly.
  • Cut the bump stop in half
  • Replace all parts, and place new spring into the shock. Tighten everything down.
  • Reverse these steps to put the assembly back in.
  • Repeat these steps on the other side
Rear
  • Remove trunk liner (Push in retaining clips to unlatch them)
  • Remove bolt holding shock to control arm
  • Remove bolt holding control arm to hub
  • Remove the two bolts in the trunk to release the shock and spring
  • Use a spring compressor to compress the spring.
  • Undo the top nut on the shock, and remove the assembly.
  • Cut the bump stop in half
  • Replace all parts, and place new spring into the shock. Tighten everything down.
  • Reverse these steps to put the assembly back in.
  • Repeat steps 20-25 on other side
RSR Ti2000 Springs Installed. The best part is, these springs will never sag!
