What do you drive?:
Nissan 200sx
|
Engine Type:
1600cc Inline-4 GA16DE
|
Transmission:
Manual 5spd
|
Engine Performance Modifications:
Hot Shot CAI. Unorthodox Racing underdrive crankshaft pulley. Koyo radiator with high pressure cap. Hand-Honed throttle body into a venturi shape funnel. Hot Shot header Tri-Y design. JWT ultralight flywheel. SE-R catalytic converter with 2 1/4" pipe all the way back to a no-restriction muffler with a 5" tip. Vehicle speed sensor override switch (to go over 115mph). Advanced Timing to 12*BTDC. Run on 92 octane. HKS hyper-ground kit. Re-located air filter below bumper, behind old fog-light duct, now open for ram-air effect. Venom400 PCM (switch off in summer for AC performance).
|
Exterior Modifications:
After-market HID lights in front, cutom driving lights, OEM fogs/brackets tossed for more air to brakes and less weight/drag. G20 aftermarket chrome grill. Chrome wheel-well trim. Photo-Blocker to rear plate (3 coats or more). Blue tribal flame decal to each side, everyone swears it's paint! Konig and Nitto logo in white on rear lower quarter-panel just in front of rear wheels. I only put stickers on of parts I HAVE ON THE CAR! I tried not to overdo it. I admit, the exhaust tip is obscenely overdone, but I like it, my preference. Ask me about pipes and resonance and frequency sometime... the tip helps the sound, no tailgaters either!
|
Interior Modifications:
Dash cover. Chrome speedometer bezel by speed-hut. Fan-cooled seats for a no-sweat summer. Short shifter and Custom knob. Kenwood Excelon Amp with 2 Pioneer Premier ALCC 12" subs in competition, dual-bandpass box. Kenwood CD head-unit (old school). (2) one farad capacitors, one with voltage readout. Vaccuum guage connected to intake manifold, A/F monitor (dither-type), APEXI rev/spd meter with G sensor. Car Chip OBDII Datalogger. GTech Pro accelerometer. Rocky Mountain Radar/Laser Detector/Jammer. 2 Additonal 6X9 rear deck speakers.
|
Suspension/Wheel Modification:
Stillen strut bars front and rear. Konig 17" rims with Nitto NeoGen tires (NT01's soon to come). Otherwise stock (if it rides nice, don't change it...) Measurements are 205/40/ZR17.
|
Other Modifications:
GA16DET radiator cap from japanese Bluebird model 1.2bar (1.2kg/cm2). Nismo oil cap. (Look, it's shiny!) That adds 25hp! NOT :(
Rattler Alarm with keyless entry and ignition kill. Also use an auto-safe pedal club on the clutch. And if I'm nervous I'll pull the ignition/crank fuze out and put it in my pocket ;)
|
ICE:
Yes santa, I would like 4 205/40/ZR17 NT 01's, A Hotshot turbo and intercooler, with JWT ecu and cams... and a quaiffe LSD for my FWD POS so it will burn up my clutch&flywheel combo from JWT in a pear tree! I have a Dash-hawk OBDII plug-in guage on order.

Subject: Repairs
Just changed out one axle then 2 months later, the other axle (FWD) CV joints worn out after 116,000 miles of fun driving. I'm sure the oversize rim/tire mod stressed them more, not to mention the roads always seem to need repair around here. I'm still undecided on a new car so I"ll keep on drivin' till the wheels fall off! Would be nice if I could afford a new nissan GT-R! 80 grand is like a refi on my home though!

Subject: o2 sensor?
I changed out the header entirely. New EGR pipe came with it. Then installed the 02 sensor back into the new header. Had to move the rear o2 sensor behind the cat now, stock position is in front.
Yep, there's two 02 sensors, one for long-term fuel trim and one for short-term fuel trim.
A FSM is a must.

Yeah, they're nice, but no car is really the "best". It depends on your taste and your wallet. Right now I like my 1.6 because the gas-gouging has just begun this winter. I would like to try a rotary engine, like an ol' 99 RX7 or turbo this bad little inline 4 and runer till she blows! 115,000mi and counting!
