The all new 2017 Nissan GT-R roared to life at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, and it’s meaner than ever. Nissan calls the new GT-R the biggest and baddest Godzilla yet. Part of this bravado is the increase in horsepower, as the new 2017 Nissan GT-R is now offered with 565 horsepower. The bump up in power isn’t all that’s part of the new GT-R, there’s several other upgrades that make the new Skyline even better than before.

Part of the performance package in the 2017 Nissan GT-R includes an all new titanium exhaust system. Part of the standard equipment for the Premium models, the new exhaust includes active noise cancellation as well as active sound enhancement features.

Along with changes to the acoustic glass, Nissan has also integrated sound dampening components to limit cabin noise. It makes the 2017 Nissan GT-R one of the quietest Skylines to date and further refines the Nissan supercar.

On the surface outside of the all new 2017 Nissan GT-R, changes to to front grille are one of the most prominent upgrades. The Nissan V-Motion grille is one of the most recent developments. The larger grille increases air flow to the engine bay, and comes in a matte chrome finish.

The new grille gives way to the all new hood found on the R35. Featuring increased character lines and designed for higher speed efficiency, the new hood is also much stronger and lighter than the predecessor. Inside the new 2017 Nissan GT-R, changes to the instrument panel and interior include a new front seat design and simplified controls. The controls trim down from the rather excessive 27 switches to a simplier layout of 11 in the 2017 Nissan GT-R.

Not to be left out of the picture, the paddle shifters in the 2017 Nissan GT-R are now mounted to the steering wheel. This allows drivers to shift on the fly or in the middle of turns.

The new 2017 Nissan GT-R Premium is just one of the four different trims set for sale in the summer of 2016. Without a doubt the new GT-R is the most refined and highly desirable Nissan that they’ve built to date.
