The title of worlds fastest S2000 now belongs to Real Street Performance, as their red roadster laid down a 7.17 second pass at over 190 MPH. In this incredible video footage from 1320 you can watch the S2000 lay it down pass after pass. Topping out with a trap speed of 192.92, this 2.2 liter has got some serious horsepower under the hood.

Of course any turbo S2000 owner knows the hurdles and challenges to manifold and turbo fitment on a F22C. There’s just not much room between the frame rail and the engine. The fastest S2000 in the world gets past that with an innovative sidewinder exhaust manifold that places the single turbo up front and out of the way.

Where most S2000 owners are swapping in the turbocharged inline six 2JZGTE, the fastest S2000 still retains the Honda 2.2 liter VTEC F22C. From the single front facing turbocharger to the suspension and tire setup, this turbo VTEC Honda has it going on.

The latest in Honda S2000 rumors is that Honda may develop and produce the fastest S2000 in stock form. The new S2000 is rumored to be a turbocharged VTEC built on Honda’s Earth Dreams engines. Could the new turbo S2000 make upwards of 350 horsepower? We’ll have to wait and see.

Of course when it comes to turbo Hondas and Honda engine swaps, the rear wheel drive F20 and F22 are quickly gaining in popularity.

While it may never reach the popularity of let’s say the DOHC VTEC engine like the B16 or B18, the F20 and F22 are a break from the norm. If you missed out on our coverage of the incredible BLOX EVO2 car show this year, here’s a refresher on the S2000 powered Acura Integra. Talk about a Honda engine swap you don’t see everyday.
