Increasing becoming popular for their low entry cost and increasing surplus from engine importers, the 1JZ swap is definitely an awesome build. The smaller brother to the renowed 3.0 liter twin turbo 2JZGTE found in the Toyota Supra, the 1JZ is commonly sourced in the Soarer or the JDM SC300.

Of course crazy JZ swaps are nothing new to the Internet, but the 1JZ swap in this Nissan S15 is particularly awesome sounding. Showing a side to the 240SX that we never got, this inline six screams around the corners and sounds like pure sex.

What’s the difference between a 2JZ and 1JZ Swap?

Not much other than the obvious difference in displacement. Indeed many of the swap components and wiring even cut over from one engine to another. Of course if you want to learn how to complete your 2JZ or 1JZ swap there’s no better place than our community at My Pro Street. Don’t forget about our budget build 240SX either, where we take a naturally aspirated 2JZGE and swap it LEGALLY into a S14 Nissan 240SX.

Because there’s so much in common with the 2.5 liter 1JZ swap and a 2JZ one, most of our 2JZ writeups will apply if you are interested. Building your 1JZ swap is easy when you select the right JDM engine importer or you’ve got the appropriate How To Guides.

What we love about this 1JZ Swap S15 video is the sound. It certainly sounds like there’s some lightweight upgrades to the valvetrain or perhaps the bottom end. It sounds as good revving at a standstill as it does sideways through the turns and corners.
