  1. I had a question for a 2014 Toyota Corolla S, when replacing the front speakers, how do you know which is negative and positive. They’re both pink wires, one with a white strip and the other with a blue strip

    • Hi Vanessa, thank you for reading!

How odd, most of the wiring references we have list the Corolla as :

Pink and Violet for Positive and Negative – Driver side
light green and blue for Positive and negative – passenger side.

You are sure that both wires up front for your Toyota corolla speakers are pink /white and pink /blue?

  2. I’m using the same stock radio as the one you picture in your 87-91 Corolla, to go back to stock on my 1991 4Runner. I also want to use the 13 pin DIN connector on the back (for the optional CD player) to connect an AUX audio circuit. I have a pinout diagram for the connector as follows:
1 – R Out (from CD to Radio)
2 – R In (to CD from Radio)
    3 – L Out
    4 – L In
    5 – N/C
    6 – CD Play
    7 – ACC +
    8 – Gnd
    9 – Ill –
    10 – Batt
    11 – Ill +
    12 – CD Mode
    13 – Mute
From the factory this connector comes with a plug that loops back the radio/cassette audio on pins 1-2 (R) and 3-4 (L). So far have managed to play my iPod back through pins 1 & 3 on the connector but have not figured out the purpose of the other CD related pins: CD Mode, CD Play and Mute. Not sure which direction the signals go and what their effect is. If you have any insight into these I would appreciate the help.
