The 2nd generation of Odyssey saw the first of what would become Honda’s automatic transmission problems. Anyone who owns this year range of 3.0, 3.2 or 3.5 liter J series engines, will suffer from some sort of transmission problem, if equipped with an automatic. For the year ranges between 1999-2004, your Honda Odyssey will have a MAINT REQD amber light, which can light up next to your OBDII DTC Check Engine Light or MIL.
Depress this button and hold it down, while inserting your key and turning to the ON position. Keep this button depressed until your MAINT REQD light begins to flash and disappear. Let go of the ODOMETER button to finish resetting your maintenance required light.
For Third Generation Honda Odyssey – 2005-2010
The third generation of Odyssey saw a host of changes that were aimed at improving reliability. While most changes buzzed around the transmission and shift solenoid problems that plagued the previous generation, Honda also improved on how to reset the 3rd generation Honda Odyssey. Starting from 2005, the Odyssey came equipped with Honda’s HUD, which gave you engine vitals and information through your instrument panel.
There’s a mode select button that’s directly beside this readout, depress this button until the MAINTENANCE section of your Honda Odyssey readout comes on screen. With the screen at MAINTENANCE, depress the button again and hold. If done right, the numbers inside the instrument cluster should flash, resetting your maintenance required light.
After just a few moments, your indicator numbers should flash, meaning you’ve reset this light in your Honda Odyssey.

I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey touring. I changed my oil when it was at 5%. But maintenance light did not reset. Now it is showing 215 miles service past due A12. Any idea what to do to reset. I followed instructions above but does not work

2001 odyssey. How do I know if it’s for the oil change or transmission fluid that needs to be changed. Oil change just 1000 miles ago.
The thing is that I already reset the maintenance light before reading the code. How do I read the code if the light come back on?
