Requested by Tony from LA, we’re going to be tackling the maintenance light in your Toyota Camry today, another chapter in the How To Reset the Maintenance Light series. Before we go over the instructions on how to reset the maintenance light on a Toyota Camry, let’s take a look at the maintenance light and what it’s function is.

The Maintenance Light or MAINT REQD light as it’s so often referred to as, is a digital reminder that your vehicle needs some service as dictated by the factory. Because these are simply reminders set on mileage, the process of resetting the maintenance light is very simple and straightforward.

Our How To Reset the Maintenance Light on a Toyota Camry Guide is meant for the XV30 as well as the XV40 models, which covers the 2002 year all the way through 2011. Our reset procedure does not change regardless of which motor or trim Camry you own, 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder, 2AZ-FE or GR-FE, just so long as the year is between 2002 and 2011.

When your MAINT REQD turns on, you need to locate the trip / reset button which is located on your instrument cluster between your speedometer and tachometer. Depress the trip button until your Toyota Camry display shows true mileage, not TRIP A or TRIP B.
