Hot new products are often unveiled at SEMA, from award winning technologies to incredible product debuts, we bring it all the SEMA coverage to you! Products like Autometer’s LS1 Tach Adapter, or Aeromotive’s Fuel Delivery Surge Tanks are always cool to see and check out, but it isn’t until they are ready for production that we get excited.

One such product is the complete lineup of Deatschwerks EV14 Bosch Fuel Injectors that first made their appearance at the 2012 SEMA Show.

Q: What else do I need to go E85?

A: It’s probably one of the most common questions we are asked here, because of so much doubt and confusion on the topic itself. There are 3 points you need to address when converting to E85 or any mixture of higher ethanol.

1. The fuel pump – This part most definitely need to be upgraded so that your fuel pressure does not drop off dangerously. We recommend at least one of the Walbro 255lph High Pressure fuel pumps, or a Deatschwerks 320lph or Aeromotive 320lph fuel pump for this solution.

2. Injector Sizing – You can use our How To Guide, or simply look up a fuel injector sizing chart online. We would recommend not going lower than 900cc depending on what kind of turbo setup or boost you are expecting. Be mindful of top feed or side feed, as this may change the injector style you go with.

3. Hose rating – Make sure that the vehicle or swap you are planning on going E85 has fuel lines and filters that are rated for E85. Do not cheap or skimp in this area, as a fuel leak or similar catastrophe could lead to injury, harm or even death.
