The fifth generation Ford Mustang has definitely redefined the retro look that has dominated later domestic models. Behind the 2004 redesign at the North American International Auto Show, the S-197 platform evolved into the new DC2 platform.

But the looks aren’t the only thing to go under the knife from the Blue Oval, Ford also took to redesigning the powertrain with modular efficiency in mind. There were two variations of the engine platform, one the cast iron 4.0L SOHC V6 rated at 210hp, and the 4.6L V8 GT belted out a decent 315 hp while featuring a variable camshaft timing technology.

The Mustang engine has been revised for the 2011 calender year, introducing the Coyote, or Ford’s 32-valve 5.0 L engine that belted out 412hp and 390ft lbs of torque. Taking it to the next level was the Shelby GT500 with the 5.4L supercharged aluminum V8 rated at 550hp and 510ft-lbs of torque. And as if that wasn’t enough power, Ford again upped the ante to keep pace with their Chevy rivals by introducing the new Shelby GT500 with a 5.8liter supercharged V8 cranking out 662 hp.

These two part numbers represent a new set of small-body air-oil separator kit for the 2011-14 Ford Mustang GT.

The small and lightweight Moroso Air & Oil Separator Tanks are designed to protect engines subject to high-performance and heavy-duty use. The tanks connect to the engine breather/PCV system to capture crankcase vapors and residual oil mist, while circulating clean breather air pressure back through the intake track.
